Everyone deserves access to sports and physical activity, so #GSMP2018 delegates participated in inclusive track and field events with members from Special Olympics Prince George’s County and student-athletes from the University of Maryland. As Akhona Makalima, the first certified female soccer referee in South Africa, said, “We learned to close the gap between us and them.” Then, at Ambitious Athletics, GSMP delegates made connections between overcoming physical challenges during a workout and pushing through challenges they’ll face when they implement their strategic plans of action in their home countries. 💪🌍❤️
