Hoy es #DiaMundialDeLosDocentes y ustedes necesitan conocer la increíble historia de Esperança Gicaso. Ella eligió enfrentar los estigmas y convertirse en maestra en una escuela pública de Luanda, Angola. Esperança cuida de su casa y de su hermana. Después de preparar el desayuno, va a la escuela por las calles empinadas, sola, superando barreras sin verlas en una de las comunidades más vulnerables de la capital angoleña. “En la universidad, había maestros que solían decir que una persona ciega no puede enseñar a los niños, pero esto me motivó a mostrar al mundo que están equivocados. No fue fácil, pero me convertí en una maestra de niños con y sin discapacidad en una escuela pública “. Por la tarde, ella es una atleta. Bueno, no es simplemente una atleta, es la mejor en Angola. Today is #WorldTeachersDay and we want to tell you the amazing story of Esperança Gicaso.
She chose to face stigmas and become a teacher in a public school of Luanda, Angola.
Esperança takes care of her home and sister. After preparing breakfast, she heads the school zigzaging among steep streets, alone, overcoming barriers without seeing them in one of the most vulnerable communities of the Angolean capital. “In the university, I had teachers who used to tell that a blind person cannot teach kids, but this just encouraged me to show the world they are wrong. It was not easy, but I became a teacher of kids with and without disability in a public school.” In the afternoon, she is an athlete. Well, not a simply athlete, the best one in Angola. Her next goal is a medal at @tokyo2020 #ParalympicGames.
