Over the next six weeks leading up to our 2019 National #YouthSportsAwards on April 27th, we will be featuring each of our 50 National Double-Goal Coach® Award presented by TeamSnap winners.

Next up is Aaron Hazel who coaches football for La Salle Catholic College Preparatory in Milwaukie, Oregon.

In Coach Hazel’s nomination, a reference in support wrote: “Coach Hazel has created a welcoming, competitive, fun atmosphere for all the members of his football program. Coach Hazel’s football program is inclusive of all kinds of people with a strong emphasis on diversity. Players range from All League to first time football athletes and everyone learns the value of the power of the team. Players learn the valuable life lessons of cooperation, accountability, and sacrificing their self interests in order to strive toward a common goal, which is to get better everyday. Coach Hazel often tells his players, “No B.C.D.” This means no blaming, complaining or denying when the going gets tough. This is a philosophy he’s instilled in his players. His players focus on what response they can control in response to an event. For example if a call doesn’t go our way, or a mental or physical error occurs, his players know they will put their effort and energy into a positive response.” Congratulations, Coach Hazel!
