“In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today. At the CSPS, we are symbolically joining hands with the rest of the world to celebrate the commemoration of the ending of slavery in the U.S. Today’s celebration not only celebrates African American freedom, it also emphasizes education and achievement. Here’s to celebrating freedom for all, the value of education, and human achievements that lead to more equitable, inclusive, and peaceful societies!
