#PartoftheSolution #WhatsYourLegacy?

CAC is honored to have worked on the Michael Johnson Young Leaders program for the past 4 years. The young leaders have adapted to their COVID-19 realities and are doing all they can to support the communities in which they live. Here are just a sample:

1. Fatma Ahmed, Michael Johnson Mentor, in Zanzibar is working on her new ZAN Athletics Center offering women and girls from schools and communities across Zanzibar the opportunity to stay physically active and healthy in a safe environment.

2. Freya Levy from the UK has been asked to be the “face” of the England squad for the planned Rugby 7’s Home Nations tournament, as well as becoming an ambassador with the main sponsor Clinisupplies. Freya has also taken part in the London Youth “Virtual games” as part of their summer program setting the basketball crossover dribble challenge: https://twitter.com/LdnYouthGames/status/1272439076021559298

3. Verne Alexander, Michael Johnson Ambassador, from St. Lucia has been working hard to design how the St Lucia Netball Association will be adapting to our new reality. They are working out how to get ready for the upcoming national under 17 tournament, under 21 tournament, and the seniors tournament in 2021.

4. Ozheni Avetisyan in Armenia has finally been able to get her Association of Young Leaders – AYL mentors and mentees together for a planning and implementation session. Ozheni’s MJYL project is offering key leadership opportunities to youth from Armenia.
