The Economist magazine Films features a current interview of mine on a podcast ‘How do you become a world class athlete?’ I delve into how my initial saga began and what I’ve learned since being a mere 20 year old junior at Morehouse College in 1976. Speaking of Morehouse, I was pleased to be honored on a fantastic nearly 100 meter long mural by Uber popular artist Fabian Williams right on the campus. All of the famous Morehouse family are there including some very talented women, Oprah and 2020 multiple Emmy nominee Issa Rae are very prominent . It’s truly larger than life as you can see. I was out there a few months ago to visit Fabian as I heard of his project. Fabian has been a great artistic force here in Atlanta and holding it down with the original Kapernick mural that was unfortunately destroyed by fire and demolition during the 2020 Superbowl. He is responsible for collecting his fellow artisans around town and covering the city with beautiful murals of the Honorable Congressman John Lewis. It was a hard week for me losing Dr. CT Vivian and Congressmen Lewis who always referred to me as ‘Morehouse’ Olympic Champion’ or just our Champion.
