Our next Field Champion Friday showcases a #DodgersRBI parent turned Field Champion! Gaby Zubia is from Hawthorne and has worked in the education field for more than 20 years. She has two children, Matthew and Gabriel. Her son Matthew has been playing in the Dodgers RBI program for 3 years which is where she began volunteering as a coach.
As a parent with a child who has special needs, Gaby encourages other parents with special needs children to introduce them to sports. The social and emotional learning skills her son has learned through the Dodgers RBI program has helped him grow as he forms bonds with his teammates and coaches.
When Gaby isn’t coaching, she spends her free time volunteering in her community and supporting families in underserved communities. #BiggerThanBaseball @Up2UsSports @up2ussportsla
