We are spotlighting both of these incredible ladies and their accomplishments on and off the field. Ibtihaj Muhammad is the first Muslim American woman in hijab to compete and win a medal for the United States in the Olympic games. An activist, entrepreneur, and New York Times Best Selling author, Ibthaj continues to be an important figure in a larger global discussion on equality and the importance of sport. 🤺
Ruqsana Begum is the first British Muslim female world champion in Muay Thai- kickboxing in professional capacity. After attaining gold and bronze medals at the LFMA World Championships, she continues to break barriers in the professional boxing world. 🥊
MSA is celebrating Women’s History Month reflecting on women’s achievements, as well as the challenges Muslim women have faced and the important role sport can play in continuing to empower girls from all backgrounds. We cant wait to hear these ladies stories and continue to be inspired by them! 💫
